The Data Lab MSc Partner Launch – **Glasgow Event**

November 21, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

Join us for the MSc Partners Launch to learn more about how you and your company can get involved with our MSc contingent.

The Data Lab invite you to attend this information event to learn about the exciting partnership opportunities available to organisations and Universities through The Data Lab MSc programme.

The Data Lab MSc is a collaborative programme which this year is funding 155 Masters studentships on 25 Data Science and AI courses across 11 Scottish Universities. The programme facilitates industry involvement and collaboration, and provides full funding and resources for students. The programme is funded by The Scottish Government through the SFC and The ESF/Developing Scotland’s Workforce fund.

We partner with MBN Solutions, a Recruitment, Talent and People Solutions Consultancy based in Glasgow, to provide 8-12 week summer placements in Scottish organisations as an option to all students on the programme. Students are paid the national living wage by the host organisations.

In addition, we provide a programme of industry relevant training including an Innovation week led this year by London-based Design Thinkers Academy. This week-long event provides the opportunity for students to take the skills that they learn in the classroom to work with organisations to address some of their real life business problems and challenges.

This event will provide information about the programme, including opportunities for organisations to engage as sponsors, placement hosts and challenge owners. We will launch our Call for Funding for The Data Lab MSc Programme 2020/21, and outline how Universities can apply for the funding of places on their Data Science and AI related courses. We are particularly interested in applications from non-STEM disciplines (e.g. we currently fund places on MSc Data Science for Business, MSc Sports Data Science and MSc Urban Analytics).

For organisations and universities not already involved in the programme, the event will provide information about the range of opportunities and how to engage with them. For those who are already involved in the MSc programme, this event will provide information on opportunities to engage over the next year. You will also hear about the wide range of support and funding opportunities The Data Lab can provide out with the MSc programme.

For course leaders who already have students funded by The Data Lab MSc programme, and for those new to the programme or keen to learn more about whether it is relevant, this is an opportunity to learn about the type of courses we will consider funding, eligibility criteria and how to apply for funding.

Following the event there will be a networking lunch, with members of The Data Lab, MBN Solutions and Design Thinkers Academy available to chat about how you can get involved.
