Funded Support for Space Tech Startups & High Growth Companies

Steven Blood General News

Businesses in Scotland are benefitting from a fully funded Incubator programme.

Based at Tontine, a technology focussed startup incubator hub in the heart of Glasgow, there are currently 5 businesses benefitting from the unparalleled guidance and financial support the programme offers.

The Scottish Space Incubator is now preparing to move into its fourth year of incubating both start up and high growth companies.

This current intake of companies has experienced accelerated growth thanks to the help of our Incubator. As part of the year-long programme, businesses are given office facilities in Glasgow, immediately removing the burden of overheads which allows for more time to be spend on growing the business. Because these offices are situated within Tontine there is access to peers, in similar startup situations, providing a unique sounding board for new ideas.

Being in Tontine, also means the members have instant access to external agencies, including Scottish Enterprise (who part fund the programme) for additional advice and guidance. Not to mention the mentorship specific to the space industry that SoXSA offers, ensuring each company has a sound business case.

In total, the support is worth in excess of £15,000, an incredible injection for cash-strapped startups. You can read more about all the benefits that the Incubator brings here.

There are still a few spaces remaining on the incubator programme. To be eligible, you need to have a new business, or a business idea, that harnesses space technology – this can be in a more ‘traditional’ way, such as Clyde Space, who build space hardware, or like Huli, a software company, that benefit from the services provided by space hardware.

If you are a new business, or a high growth company, with a clear business plan, we want to hear from you. The window for applications closes in February 2020, so act now to secure your place.
